How to cancel Netflix
Trying to cancel Netflix and take a break? Whether you’ve found a new favorite streaming service or simply want to save some money, cancelling your Netflix subscription is a breeze.
Here’s a quick guide to help you do it from both your browser and the Netflix app.
Cancel Netflix from your browser
- Head over to netflix.com.
- Enter your login credentials if you’re not already signed in. If you have multiple profiles, select the one you want to use.
- Click on the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen. A dropdown menu will appear. Choose “Account” from the options.
- Once in your account settings, locate the “Membership” tab or section.
- When you’re in the Membership section click the button labeled “Cancel Membership”. This will usually be found at the bottom of the page.
- You’ll be presented with a cancelation validation screen. Click the button that says “Finish cancellation” to officially end your Netflix subscription.
- Lastly you will see a “We’ve canceled your membership screen” and the date until you can still use your account.
Cancel Netflix from your Netflix app
- Open the Netflix app on your device.
- Enter your login credentials if you’re not already signed in. If you have multiple profiles, select the one you want to use.
- Look for the profile icon, usually located in the bottom right corner of the app screen and tap on it.
- On some devices, you might see an “Account” option directly in the dropdown menu. If not, tap on the three horizontal lines (often called the hamburger menu) on the top right corner. This will open a menu. Locate and tap “Account” within this menu.
- In the Account page tap the “Cancel Membership” button found in the Membership & Billing section.
- A cancelation validation screen will appear. Tap “Finish cancellation” to confirm and officially terminate your Netflix subscription.
- Lastly you will see a “We’ve canceled your membership screen” and the date until you can still use your account.
